Unit 6 Post

Another busy week almost over with! My classes are keeping me very busy this term. I have a final paper due in both classes. It seems so much harder when you are trying to research and write two different papers at the same time. I am coming along good on both papers though. I am looking forward to having a week off from school. Luckily it falls during the 4th of July holiday so it won't be stressful like this Memorial day weekend is going to be.

My nephew is graduating from high school on Saturday. His graduation party is Saturday also. We will be staying the night with my husbands family that night because it is about an hour drive from our house and we will be there all day for the party. They are going to cookout and play volleyball and corn hole. Some people from different states are not familiar with corn hole. It is sort of like horse shoes but you throw bean bags on a board and try to make it in the hole. It is really fun. It is supposed to be another nice weekend in Kentucky! Hot but at least no rain in the forecast after tonight and tomorrow...

Unit 5 post

Another busy week over with and now the weekend. My Aunt and Uncle are in from Colorado for the weekend so we will be taking them around town and doing some fun things with them. Tomorrow we are going to Joe Huber's Family Orchard and Restaurant. They have a really nice orchard and are known for the pumpkin patches. They also have different fruits that you can pick like apples and strawberries. It is a really nice place to spend time with your family. They also make different wines there and you can go sample them. I am looking forward to that!

I have started both of my final papers for my classes this term. I am researching Multiple Sclerosis and the Male and Female Reproductive Systems. I will be glad when I get both of my papers completed. It is stressful trying to keep up with school work and still try to spend time with your family.

My daughter only has 6 more days of school left. She is very excited that summer break is almost here. She has done so well in first grade this year. We are trying to think of something special to do for her since she made such good grades. Haven't decided on anything yet....

Unit 4 post

School is moving right along this term. I can't believe we are already almost half way through this term. It is so hard to stay focused on school work when the weather is so nice outside. I have to push myself a little harder but I know when I recieve my degree it will all be worth it!

My daughter is almost finished with the first grade. I can't believe how fast kids grow up. She went to the zoo with her class on Friday. My husband took off work and went with the kids. They had a really good time and the weather was great.

We got our 8 month old puppy fixed yesterday. She is still very groggy from her surgery. I feel so sorry for her! They also had to pull out the rest of her baby teeth that didn't fall out on there own. I am sure she is in pain. Hopefully after another day of rest she will be back to herself again. My daughter is taking very good care of her and even had the veternarian give her the dogs teeth so she could put them under her pillow for the tooth fairy. The "tooth fairy" brought the dog 2 new bags of treats so that made her morning today.

Unit 3 post

I had a wonderful Mother's Day today. Hope everyone else did too! I went to lunch with my mother and grandmother and our families. We had a really great time! We went to Kobes which is a Japanese Steak house. We love how they cook the food right in front of you. They were so busy today because of Mother's Day. Guess everyone had the same idea that we did.

School has been a little stressful this term. I am taking Anatomy II and College Comp II and have a big paper due in both classes at the same time. It is hard researching and writing two papers at one time. I am going to try to work ahead so that I can get them finished early.

It finally quit raining here in Kentucky and is drying up some. We have a chance for storms on and off all week but not drenching rains like we had last weekend. I am tired of the flooding and the mess that it leaves behind....

The Kentucky Derby

Yesterday was the 136th Kentucky Derby. We do not go to the track because of the large crowds but we do go to a derby party every year with our family. We had a big cookout and everyone brought side dishes and desserts. We have derby jackpots all day and usually have a big family softball game. This year we did not get to have the game though because it stormed all day long. It still has not quit raining yet. Kentucky has flash flooding everywhere! We had a great day spending time with the family and all the kids loved getting together. I came home with more money than I went with so that was good too! I like winning money much more than losing it!!
